For nighttime shows, animal experiences, and a dazzling show of holiday lights, Zoo Lighting returns to the Denver Zoo after 28 years. For this year's Zoo Lights activity, which lasts into early January, two million Christmas lights will be spread across the 70-acre zoo. Zoo Lights is a ticketed function involving a separate entrance charge from your Denver Zoo. The zoo is closed at 5 p.m and reopens for the Zoo Lights event every night at 5:30.


Witness the Parade of lights: 


After 1975, with a show of holiday lights, this holiday celebration has graced downtown Denver streets every year. On two days this year, December 6 and December 7, 2019, the Denver Celebration of Decorations will expand to Civic City Park. 

Denver pavilion Carousel:


The holiday carousel at the shopping mall in Denver Pavilions allows children to experience the season's excitement from a horse's perch as the pavilion's twinkling Christmas lights dance around them. You can do some Christmas shopping in the pavilions after a ride on the carousel and then walk along the famed 16th Street Mall in downtown, which includes plenty of specialty shops and boutiques great for last-minute vacation shopping.

Evergreen Lake: 




At Evergreen Lake, about 40 minutes from downtown, you can go ice skating this Christmas in Denver. Weather permitting, in mid-December, a part of Evergreen Lake opens up for ice skating, but before going out, you can contact the skating center to test whether the lake is protected enough to ski safely.

A Hudson Christmas is a signature seasonal light show featuring thousands of twinkling lights in magnificent forests, Santa's appearances, and family memories. Step along a festively decorated natural walking trail as you drink hot chocolate and enjoy spectacular light and sound shows.
